It seems that Disney has bit off a little more than they can chew when it comes to the new nighttime shows. Disney planned for an opening around Earth Day, but it looks like late May will be the earliest.

Disney has hit a few snags when it comes to getting the two shows working without any issues. In their latest post on the Disney Parks Blog they stated:

“Unfortunately, they will not open as planned on that date as we give the team more time to bring these innovative experiences to life in a way we know will exceed our guests’ expectations”

It’s unsure whether the Shanghai budget cuts have anything to do with the delays. The main cause reported is technical issues with the water floats. In the meantime Disney has shared a video of the Nighttime Magic at the Tree of Life show that was to debut at the same time.

Many guests have planned trips in May expecting the new experiences to be ready. Although disappointing, delays are expected when bringing new experiences to guests.
