July 12, 2017Home of Alien, the Wicked Witch, and John Wayne may soon be expunged for a more “Disney” ride. It looks like the Mickey Mouse overlay or replacement will soon be underway in the Chinese Theater show building.
A notice of commencement was filed on July 11th with the exact address of The Great Movie Ride. The project name stated for commencement is Project M. Rumors of a Mickey takeover of the attraction have been going around online for a while. After the death of the current Great Movie Ride Host, Robert Osborne it seems like things were sped up internally to get this project underway.
The expiration date for the filing is October 31, 2019 which means this part of the project should be wrapped up by then.
We’ll find out more about the project when something official is announced. It’s possible we could hear something as soon as D23.
