We’ve heard from several sources at this point that Disney is recruiting Cast Members for a new transportation project to be tested soon.

Internal company postings describe that they are looking for Cast Members who know the roads as well as have a clean driving record. They are asked to be familiar with the Walt Disney World Resort and able to drive cars as well as passenger vans.

We’ve yet to reach out to anyone involved with the project directly, but there’s a few things that we can assume based on the job description.

  1. Transportation will be provided on Disney property only.
  2. This is being directed towards resort guests with dinner or activity reservations at other resorts or parks.
  3. MagicBand will be accepted as a form of payment.

There’s not much information beyond the fact that Disney is for sure going to test this in the near future. Last year we saw a guest survey go out about this sort of transportation option. Park Hopping is now covered by Express Transportation, but guests looking to resort hop are out of luck as far as direct transportation options provided by Disney.

Guests are starting to realize that too much time is spent on Disney buses during their vacation and the need for other options is costing them money as they have no direct transportation option. Looks like Disney is willing to go after Uber if it means a better guest experience and more money in their pocket.
