Today Legoland Florida confirms the permanent closure of Island in the Sky.

This attraction opened in 1983 when the park was known as Cypress Gardens. The ride operated for 34 years bringing guests 150′ in the air.

Legoland did not announce the closure so it did come unexpectedly. They did however release a statement regarding the reason for closure.

“[Legoland looks] forward to developing new and exciting attractions that will entertain Legoland guests for generations to come.”
