Walt Disney World seems to be developing an odd foot fetish lately with their newest patent claiming to track guests via their feet. The patent is described as a “system and method using foot recognition to create a customized guest experience.” Disney says there are no current plans to use it in a theme park.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn our ongoing effort to relentlessly innovate\u00a0and\u00a0push the boundaries of creativity and technology to create immersive experiences and legendary guest service, we\u00a0file many patents annually\u00a0\u2014\u00a0some come to fruition and others\u00a0do not,\u201d Disney spokeswoman Suzi Brown said.<\/p>\n
Big brother Disney explains that they would capture photos of guests feet as they entered the park to gather\u00a0demographic information given voluntarily, such as name, age or hometown. Disney explains that by taking photos of guests feet as opposed to a guests face is less invasive.<\/p>\n
There would be different cameras places around the park to capture guests feet at eateries and at rides to help “enhance” their own experience.<\/p>\n
If this becomes implicated I say we all come together one day and wear red converse. \u00a0What now Disney marketing?<\/p>\n
