Three new Star Wars experiences are coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios beginning this spring. These new entertainment offerings begin on April 4th which is the same day a large area of the park will close to enter construction for Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land.
Beginning April 4th Disney’s Hollywood Studios will host a new live action stage show called Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away. The show will play out iconic moments from the Star Wars films. In the show you’ll see characters such as Kylo Ren, Chewbacca, Darth Vader and Darth Maul.
Another entertainment opportunity is aFirst Order stormtrooper march lead by Captain Phasma. This will begin at the Star Wars Launch Bay and end at the stage in front of the Chinese Theater. The stormtrooper march will happen a few times per day and also begin April 4th.
Also, this summer will introduce Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular; a new nighttime fireworks show that will include projections, special effects, and videos. The goal is to transform the Chinese Theater into something out of the Star Wars universe.
The show will combine fireworks, pyrotechnics, special effects and video projections that will turn the nearby Chinese Theater and other buildings into the twin suns of Tatooine, a field of battle droids, the trench of the Death Star, Starkiller Base and other Star Wars destinations. The show will be punctuated with a tower of fire and spotlight beams, creating massive lightsabers in the sky. This new show will be the most elaborate fireworks display to take place in the history of Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
