Good news for food fans who love Disney’s signature dining. Tiffins has shared some details on what to expect when they open this Spring.
The 252 seat restaurant is Animal Kingdom’s first Signature restaurant. It will host a menu offering dishes inspired by Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas.
The theming of the restaurant is world travel. The artwork and decor celebrates those who helped build Animal Kingdom and the research that inspired them. “Tiffin” is the Indian word for a lunchbox so the restaurant will be open daily for lunch and dinner.
The interior divides into different “galleries” or dining rooms. Asia inspires the Trek Gallery with 74 seats. Africa, the Safari Gallery with 64 seats, and the Grand Gallery with 114 seats.
Tiffins departs from the usual themes of a theme park restaurant. Rather than being set in fantasy, the restaurant pulls from the adventures of Imagineers.
“Tiffins is not about a make-believe place, it’s about real people and places,” says Emily O’Brien, Imagineering executive show producer for Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
The interior doesn’t stray too far from what makes up a normal Disney restaurant. Although the theme may stray from what’s normal. It’s sure to have those special Disney touches.
The restaurant will open with a focus on the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund. Guests can donate and receive a special tag to share their travel stories with others. Each guest’s tag is displayed above the Nomad Lounge’s bar. Disney even wants guests to feel like they are also part of the story. “We’re trying to tell the story of how guests can make a change,” said O’Brien.
This is the latests from Disney on what is sure to become a popular Walt Disney World restaurant. We’ll let you know once Tiffins reservations are available.
