April 13, 2016Animal Kingdom has decided to hold a few special events celebrating Earth Day on April 22, 2016. Disneynature is presenting the 2016 Party for the Planet.
Each land in Animal Kingdom will host activities and an opportunity to meet a member of the Disney animal-care team.
Animal educators and conservation experts will be on hand for guests to see special presentations all day long. Animal feedings and training demonstrations are also planned specially for this day.
Guests have the chance to meet Joe Rohde on April 22 as well. He’s one of Disney’s lead Imagineers and helped play a big part in bringing Animal Kingdom to life. He will be on hand signing books about Disneys efforts in conservation along with his own artwork. Joe will be at the Discovery Trading Company from 1-2pm inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Also rumored to be appearing is Jiminy Cricket. He’s usually at Rafiki’s Planet Watch during the day. Disney has yet to release any news directly, but Jiminy is expected to be appearing.
Unfortunately Rivers of Light will not be debuting on April 22. Unforeseen technical issues have delayed the opening of Animal Kingdom’s nighttime show. We’ll share the news once Disney releases an official opening date.
