Today Disney has introduced a big new feature in My Disney Experience. Walking directions are an option when searching a location. Transit directions are also available via the new feature.

Walking and Transit Directions

For most people visiting Walt Disney World this will be a handy addition. Gone are the days of staring at the map and walking around trying to find a relevant landmark.

My Disney Experience Walking Directions

When searching a location outside of the park you are in, you receive transit directions. These include walking directions to your form of transport as well as more info. For example searching Magic Kingdom from Typhoon Lagoon you receive Transit directions.

Not every part of the new directions feature is useful yet. Some directions are missing waypoints, but more will be added as time passes. Is it better than asking for directions? Not exactly. With some time and slight improvements we can see this as a great improvement for the app.

Other Improvements

Also new in this version of the app is a calendar view when booking FastPass+ reservations. There is no longer a long process of searching for the correct date. You can just tap it on the calendar to start the reservation process.

The same goes with dining reservations. The improved flow and quicker response times make booking a table easier than ever.
