September 3, 2015Force Friday is a retail release event taking place on September 4th. The 4th marks the day that most merchandise for the new Star Wars movie will be released from retailers all over the globe.
Walt Disney Parks and Resorts has decided to hold a special release event at Once Upon a Toy at Downtown Disney. Originally the event was $50 to attend and be the first to purchase merchandise related to the upcoming film.
Included in the special event are the releases of Star Wars Disney Parks specific apparel, pins, toys, retail MagicBands (WDW only), Vinylmation figures, and more.
Disney has since then announced that there is no longer a fee to attend. This change was enacted due to “overwhelming guest demand”. Guests who have already registered for the event will be refunded and allowed into a priority purchaser line. This will allow them to have priority access to the new items.
The event is also taking place at World of Disney located in Anaheim. The same changes have taken place there.
