February 9, 2016This past weekend was the beginning of the Mardi Gras celebration at Universal Studios Florida. The limited time concerts, parades, discounts, and food have also kicked into effect.
This year introduces something new in the way of experiences and applications. The Mardi Guide app allows you to collect virtual beads in exchange for freebies. What begins as a quest for virtual beads can end with a free beverage. Be sure to check it out if you are heading out on a Mardi Gras event night.
For those who live in the Orlando area and are not annual passholders, now is the best time to join. You get 3 free months added to your pass as long as you purchase and activate it by April 16th. Check out the Universal site for details.
Of course it wouldn’t be Mardi Gras without the parade, beignets, and accompanying adult beverage (Hurricane!). For those who are burnt out on the parade or want a reason to watch, Universal added four new floats to the parade to change things up.
